A Typical Day…

Children will meet Wulfric of Mercia an Anglo-Saxon warrior serving the king. In the morning pupils will learn where the various tribes came from and settled. Wulfric will enlist the children into the fyrd (local army) and teach them how to form a shield wall.

 
Following break pupils will learn more about the weapons and armour used throughout the period. As well as reenact a pagan burial.

 

After lunch pupils will learn about everyday life by handling a wide variety of objects to work out what they are. The day will be finished off with an epic retelling of Beowulf acted out by all the children. 

Pupils will also have plenty of opportunity to ask questions throughout the day.
